DANCER
2019
Salma Allam is a choreographer, dancer, actor and writer of Egyptian decent. She was
Artistic Director of Movement in C, and Salma Allam Dance Theater. Alwan for the Arts
presented her solo show Collection of Me in 2011, where her blend of contemporary
dance with Egyptian traditional dance was a focus. In 2012 she was invited to open the
Golden West College annual peace conference. Her training includes the Ailey School,
receiving her two-year certificate from the Merce Cunningham Studio, and the Deena
Levy Theater Studio. Her choreography and writing credits include, Eternal Bleeding
which is dedicated to sito (grandma), Things My Mother Taught Me: A Daughter’s
Journey. Shorter works include: Broken Swan, You are my elder, & Miscarriage.
